Update, September 27, 2008

With the general shape pretty much carved, the next step will be to apply texture to give the appearance of softness. I’ll be using a combination of hand gouges, rotary power carving burrs, and woodburning to create the hair texture.

Home now from the week-long Gathering of Woodcarvers, and back to work. This is starting to look like a cat now. I will be adding glass eyes later.
